Social Committee

The OIT Social Committee was formed in 2023 as a response to the 2022 culture survey where respondents  identified more in-person and hybrid events and activities as important to departmental success in our new hybrid work environment. They asked for more opportunities to socialize in a casual and fun setting.   The intent is to build a deeper sense of belonging and comradery through closer and more connected relationships.      Essentially get out of work-focused zoom meetings and connect on a personal level.

The committee plans in-person and hybrid events and activities for the department such as the annual ice cream social, staff picnic, coffee chit-chats, beach cleanups, the donuts and morning snacks event, the all-staff icebreaker breakout rooms activity, and the annual holiday party.
